Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how CALIPTO SIA (“CALIPTO”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Hyperion Link mobile application (“Hyperion Link” or the “App”).
Hyperion Link is a companion application for the Hyperion Battery Gateway. The App communicates with compatible gateway hardware primarily over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), displays battery and gateway information, manages battery bindings, provides diagnostics and background monitoring features, and allows supported gateway firmware to be updated.
1. Overview
Hyperion Link does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, payment information, or other profile information.
The App does not contain advertising and does not use your information for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Most information processed by Hyperion Link remains locally on your device. Limited technical information is transmitted to our firmware update service when you use the firmware update functionality, as described below.
2. Information Processed Locally on Your Device
To provide its core functionality, Hyperion Link may process and store information received from your Battery Gateway and connected batteries.
This may include gateway identifiers and Bluetooth transport identifiers, Bluetooth device addresses, gateway name and user-defined name, model and manufacturer information, Bluetooth signal strength, gateway connection and diagnostic status, battery binding information, and battery telemetry.
Battery telemetry may include information such as battery voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, state of health, remaining capacity, cycle count, battery status, error information, and the time at which telemetry was received.
This information relates to the Battery Gateway and battery system rather than to your personal identity.
The App stores this information in its private application storage on your mobile device so that it can display saved gateways, last-known information, and battery history.
CALIPTO does not receive this locally stored gateway, binding, or battery telemetry data through the normal monitoring functionality of the App.
3. Bluetooth
Hyperion Link uses Bluetooth Low Energy to discover, connect to, communicate with, and manage compatible Battery Gateway devices.
Bluetooth information processed by the App may include nearby gateway identifiers, Bluetooth addresses, signal strength, connection state, gateway information, and data exchanged with the connected gateway.
Bluetooth communication between the App and the Battery Gateway is used to provide the functionality requested by you and is not used for advertising or tracking.
4. Location Permission on Android
On Android, Hyperion Link may request location permission while the App is in use as part of Bluetooth scanning and device discovery compatibility on Android devices and Android versions where such permission is required.
Hyperion Link does not use this permission to determine or record your physical location.
The App does not provide maps, route tracking, fishing-location features, geographic tracking, or location-based advertising.
Hyperion Link does not intentionally collect, store, transmit, or share GPS coordinates or other precise physical location data.
The App does not request or use Android background location permission.
5. Background Monitoring and Notifications
On supported Android devices, you may choose to start background battery monitoring.
When background monitoring is enabled, Hyperion Link uses an Android foreground service to maintain communication with saved Battery Gateway hardware while the App is not visible.
The foreground service may continue receiving battery telemetry and updating locally stored telemetry information. Android displays an ongoing notification while this monitoring service is running.
The App may request notification permission so that it can display the foreground-service notification and battery monitoring information.
Background monitoring is initiated by the user and can be stopped from the App or through Android system controls.
Background monitoring does not involve background location tracking.
6. Firmware Updates and Internet Access
Normal Bluetooth monitoring does not require an Internet connection.
Hyperion Link uses an Internet connection when you use its firmware update functionality. The App communicates with the Hyperion/Evonix OTA service, currently hosted at:
https://evonix.bluethings.cloud
The OTA service is used to determine whether compatible firmware updates are available and to download firmware files.
When checking for firmware updates, the App may transmit technical information required to select compatible firmware. This may include product or project identifiers, firmware release channel, gateway component identifiers, currently installed firmware versions, component release information, and related technical compatibility information.
This information is used only to provide, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the firmware update service.
The App does not intentionally send your locally stored battery telemetry history, user-defined gateway names, contacts, advertising identifiers, or precise location to the OTA service as part of an update check.
As with ordinary Internet communications, the OTA server and its hosting or network infrastructure may receive standard network information necessary to process the request, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, request date and time, and technical request or error information.
We do not use this information for advertising or cross-service tracking.
Firmware files downloaded by the App are stored in private application storage for the purpose of performing the firmware update.
7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Hyperion Link does not use Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party behavioral analytics services as part of the current App functionality.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share information with advertising networks or data brokers.
We do not use information from Hyperion Link to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
8. Service Providers
We may use technical infrastructure or service providers to operate the firmware update service, host firmware files, provide network infrastructure, or maintain systems required for App functionality.
Such providers may process limited technical or network information only as necessary to provide services on our behalf or maintain the security and reliability of those services.
We do not authorize our service providers to use information received through Hyperion Link for independent advertising or user profiling.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Gateway information, battery binding information, and battery telemetry history stored by Hyperion Link remain in the App's private storage on your device until they are deleted.
When you remove a saved Battery Gateway from Hyperion Link, locally stored information associated with that gateway, including related binding information and telemetry history, is removed from the App's local database.
You can also remove all locally stored Hyperion Link data by clearing the App's storage through your operating system or uninstalling the App.
Firmware files and other temporary update-related files may remain in private application storage as necessary for the update process and are removed when the relevant application data is cleared or the App is uninstalled.
Technical server logs associated with firmware update requests, if retained, are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting of the firmware update service, after which they are deleted or anonymized in accordance with our operational retention practices.
If you wish to request access to or deletion of server-side information that may relate to you, you may contact us using the contact information below. We will process applicable requests in accordance with applicable law.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Hyperion Link.
Local App information is stored within the application's private storage provided by the mobile operating system.
Communication with the firmware update service uses HTTPS with certificate verification enabled.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
Hyperion Link is a utility application intended for users of compatible Battery Gateway hardware and is not designed or directed to children.
We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the App.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us through a service related to Hyperion Link, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable data protection laws may give you rights regarding personal information processed by us, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or objection to certain processing.
Because Hyperion Link does not require a user account and most App data remains solely on your device, CALIPTO may not possess information that allows us to identify an individual Hyperion Link user.
For information held only on your device, you can exercise control over that information directly by removing saved gateways, clearing the App's data, or uninstalling the App.
For questions or requests relating to information processed by our Internet services, please contact us.
13. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other laws requiring a legal basis for processing apply, limited technical and network information associated with firmware updates is processed as necessary to provide and maintain the requested firmware update functionality and based on our legitimate interests in operating, protecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the service.
We do not process Hyperion Link information for targeted advertising or behavioral profiling.
14. Third-Party Links
Hyperion Link may allow you to open external websites or resources.
Once you leave the App, the privacy practices of the destination website or third-party service are governed by that provider's own privacy policy. CALIPTO is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites or services that we do not operate.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Hyperion Link functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or supporting services change.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will publish the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
